Seraph delivers Operation Mincemeat's deception package

HMS Seraph released the body and false documents intended to misdirect Axis planning away from the Allied invasion of Sicily.

Notes

The deception used a body dressed as a Royal Marines officer and carrying a briefcase of false military papers. Those papers suggested Allied landings in Sardinia and Greece, while the actual objective was Sicily. Seraph released the body off Spain and disposed of its transport canister in deeper water to protect the story. The submarine then transmitted the completion signal that gave Operation Mincemeat its familiar name.
