Sejong's large defensive magazine made it an exceptionally powerful air-defence destroyer. Jeongjo has less air-defence depth, but its heavier missiles provide a strike capability the earlier ship lacks. The resulting analogy casts Sejong as the shield and Jeongjo as the spear. Operating them together could combine those strengths in one task group. This is an argument for complementary employment, with each design compensating for a limitation of the other.

Pairing Sejong and Jeongjo for defence and strike
Sejong retains the deeper defensive magazine while Jeongjo supplies the heavier strike weapon, making the two designs complementary rather than direct replacements.
