Secondary guns and torpedoes for close action

Repulse combined ten 6-inch guns, quick-firing weapons, seven torpedo tubes, and heavy armour for a close-range battleship fight.

Notes

Repulse's four 13.5-inch guns were not her only important offensive system. Ten 6-inch guns formed the principal killing power once the range closed, backed by six-pounders and three-pounders. Seven 18-inch torpedo tubes made the close-action battery denser still, although four were removed in 1902. Belt, bulkhead, barbette, casemate, conning-tower, and deck armour show that Repulse was designed to endure the same close fighting she was built to deliver.
