Seawolf becomes an anti-submarine training asset in Canada

After operational patrols, Seawolf moved to Halifax to help the Royal Canadian Navy train anti-submarine forces.

Notes

The posting kept an older submarine useful after its front-line patrols ended. Real submarines were essential opponents for escorts learning to protect convoys because classroom instruction could not reproduce the detection and attack problem. Seawolf's training work supported the readiness of many Canadian ships. Her later commanders included officers from both British and Canadian naval services, including a Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve officer at the end of the war.
