That depended on how many Tribal-class destroyers survived protecting the capital ships during the initial naval battle.

British destroyers would first have to help the capital ships reach the main battle. A later attack on French ports and follow-up invasion waves would draw on whatever destroyer strength survived. The proposal therefore depended on losses in the opening naval action.
