Sea control can remove the option to retreat

Tiger's sea-control mission can require her to remain in contact despite having the speed to withdraw.

Notes

In the simulated duel, Tiger is fast enough to disengage in theory, but the Royal Navy ship's sea-control mission changes that calculation. A ship charged with protecting trade and denying the enemy maritime freedom may have to remain in contact and seek destruction of the opponent. The slower German ship is also trapped in daylight because it cannot outrun Tiger, though darkness might permit evasive manoeuvre. Tactical speed therefore has to be read alongside the mission rather than treated as freedom to avoid every unfavourable exchange.
