Scorpion, Dragonfly, and Grasshopper lost off Singapore

The three gunboats' final actions show lightly armed evacuation vessels fighting a cruiser, destroyers, and aircraft during the collapse of Singapore.

Notes

HMS Scorpion survived air attack after leaving Singapore but encountered the Japanese cruiser Yura and two destroyers in the Banka Strait. She fought back with two four-inch guns, a 3.7-inch howitzer, and machine guns despite the mismatch; only small groups of survivors were recovered. HMS Dragonfly and HMS Grasshopper departed together on 13 February and were bombed the next day, with Dragonfly hit three times and Grasshopper beached after two hits and a fire. The class losses belong to the fighting withdrawal from Singapore rather than serving only as background to the campaign.
