Scheer compressed German order timing

Scheer's criticism of Jellicoe depended on German ships receiving and executing torpedo orders faster than the battle timeline supports.

Notes

Scheer used his assumed timing of German torpedo attacks to argue that Jellicoe had already turned away before the torpedoes launched. His reconstruction repeatedly compresses the time German ships needed to receive and execute orders. That distortion turned a command-and-control delay into a personal criticism of the British commander. Fleet tactics must be reconstructed from actual signal and maneuver timing rather than a commander's retrospective sequence alone.
