Question

Were there serious plans to save HMS Renown after the Second World War?

Short answer

Yes, her crew association explored preservation, but the effort ultimately came to nothing.

Notes

Preservation was more than a purely modern wish: Renown's association of former officers and ratings made a semi-serious attempt to find a way to save her. As with the effort surrounding Warspite, however, the proposal did not come to fruition.
