A Huntington Ingalls future surface-combatant concept reused the San Antonio-class form. The proposed battery held either 288 Mk 41 cells or 144 larger Mk 57 cells. A lift at the stern supported helicopter movement and preserved some of the parent hull's aviation utility. The concept repurposed the volume and stability of an amphibious ship for an arsenal role far removed from transport.
