Will Russia ask China for help with naval technology?
Short answerJoint programs are possible, but mutual distrust makes substantial cooperation uncertain.
NotesJoint programs are more plausible than a simple Russian request for Chinese assistance. The decisive obstacle is whether each state trusts the other enough to share technology and accept dependence within a collaborative program. Cooperation would be shaped as much by control of intellectual property and supply chains as by technical need. Strategic alignment does not automatically produce deep defense-industrial integration.
