Question

What might a Royal Navy Type 90 warship be?

Short answer

An enhanced Type 83-style general-purpose combatant, perhaps using a large and unconventional hull form.

Notes

Type 90 falls within the Type 81-99 numbering range for general-purpose frigates, destroyers, and sloops. The proposed ship would be an enhanced Type 83, itself treated here as a general-purpose cruiser. A Zumwalt-like trimaran is suggested as the speculative endpoint. This is an imagined design, with no settled specification.
