The Multi-Role Support Ship program remains unsettled. One route produces a full landing-platform dock with added capabilities, while the other moves toward a genuine helicopter dock with a full flight deck. Those alternatives imply different balances among aviation, sealift, docking, and amphibious support. An LHD remains possible, but the program has not committed the Royal Navy to that design.
