Arbitration accompanied Roosevelt's intervention policy

Roosevelt proposed arbitration treaties and another Hague conference alongside the intervention powers associated with his corollary.

Notes

Roosevelt proposed arbitration treaties with any powers willing to enter into them. He acknowledged that some disputes could not then be submitted to arbitration, while arguing that many others could. At the Interparliamentary Union's request, he also invited governments to a second Hague conference to continue the earlier conference's work. Arbitration and international conferences formed part of the same policy statement that asserted an American international police power.
