How certain was Rodney's torpedo hit on Bismarck?

Rodney fired 24-inch torpedoes at about 3,000 yards, but identifying a hit amid the bombardment was difficult.

Notes

Rodney closed to about 3,000 yards and added torpedoes to her flat-trajectory broadsides. Her 24-inch weapons were the largest torpedoes then in Royal Navy service. Ludovic Kennedy, watching from Tartar, considered the action a unique instance of one battleship torpedoing another in such a battle. At least one hit is believed to have occurred, although a torpedo explosion would have been difficult to distinguish amid the simultaneous 16-inch, 14-inch, and 8-inch shellfire.
