The ship fired 102 main-battery rounds and 87 secondary rounds at Jutland without being hit. Uneven visibility offers a likely explanation: German fire tended to concentrate on the British ships that could be made out through the smoke, leaving others comparatively untouched. Damage to Marlborough caused Vice Admiral Cecil Burney to transfer his flag through the cruiser Fearless, and Revenge's division rejoined the Grand Fleet only on the following evening. Her performance nevertheless established her as a trusted flagship, first temporarily and then under Burney's successor, Sydney Fremantle. After the war she guarded the interned High Seas Fleet at Scapa Flow, where Rear Admiral Ludwig von Reuter was brought aboard Revenge and accused of violating the armistice after the German scuttling.
