Renown's final service as a training and support ship

After her royal-yacht career, Renown became a stoker training ship, a tender to HMS Victory, and accommodation for the 1911 Coronation Review.

Notes

A 1909 Portsmouth refit converted Renown for training stokers while preserving the option of further royal service. She briefly acted as a tender to HMS Victory before settling into the new instructional role. During George V's 1911 Coronation Review at Spithead, the Navy used her as an accommodation ship. A water tanker named Aid slightly damaged her in a collision later that year. Her machinery spaces and accommodation kept the obsolete battleship useful after its combat and diplomatic roles had ended.
