Reginald Drax from Blanche to convoy commodore

Blanche's minelayer conversion introduces Reginald Drax, whose later career ranged from naval education and diplomacy to wartime convoy command.

Notes

Captain Reginald Drax took command of Blanche as she moved toward minelaying duties after Jutland. His later career extended far beyond the cruiser. Drax led the Royal Naval College and undertook a mission to Moscow before retiring in 1941. He then joined the Home Guard and returned to maritime service as a convoy commodore from 1943 to 1945, linking a First World War scout-cruiser commander to convoy operations in the next war.
