Fleet depth opens a possible refit window for Hood and Repulse

Extra capital ships make a Hood modernization and radar or anti-aircraft work on Repulse more plausible before German bombing pressures British dockyards.

Notes

Without a large Mediterranean battle fleet, Britain has more capital ships available early and can rotate units through dockyards without dangerously thinning the Home Fleet. A substantial Hood refit therefore becomes plausible instead of sending her through the war with the historical backlog of modernization work. Repulse might receive a shorter package focused on radar and anti-aircraft armament, improvements that yield useful combat value without a prolonged reconstruction. The timing matters because the window is widest before German bombing regularly disrupts British yards. This does not mean every desired rebuild would be completed; the extra fleet depth makes specific upgrades more feasible.
