Ramform Hyperion's wide-stern survey geometry

Ramform Hyperion's triangular form gives seismic-survey crews the broad stern needed to tow a large, accurately spaced sensor array.

Notes

The Ramform design is shaped around high-resolution seabed and subsurface surveying for energy projects, geological monitoring, and other demanding searches. A broad array of parallel streamers, commonly arranged as eight in one line and six behind, produces a detailed picture beneath the seabed. The exceptionally wide stern provides the working width needed to deploy and control those sensors. Accurate results also require the ship to hold a precise position and proceed on a very straight course while the array is streamed. What looks like an incomplete conventional hull is a purpose-built measurement platform whose geometry follows directly from its job.
