The Royal Australian Navy's Q-class Quiberon commissioned in July 1942. With Force Q she took part in the interception of an Italian convoy at Skerki Bank in December. The force included the cruisers Aurora, Argonaut and Sirius and the destroyer Quentin. In the account, the Allied ships took splinter damage while sinking an escort destroyer and transports and damaging other escorts.
