Recommended journals for naval history research

Which academic journals are useful for international maritime or naval history?

The Northern Mariner and the British Journal for Military History are recommended.

For academic reading, The Northern Mariner is recommended as a Canadian journal with a maritime specialization. The British Journal for Military History from the British Commission for Military History is also named. The second journal places naval subjects within a broader military-history context. Together they provide complementary routes into current scholarly literature.
