Knowing when pursuit wastes more strength than it gains

A defeated remnant is left alone because marching thousands of troops after eighteen survivors would spend strength without changing the operational result.

Notes

The simulated battle ends without sending a large army after eighteen surviving opponents. The remnant still exists on the map but no longer forms a force worth exhausting thousands of troops to destroy. Further pursuit would consume time and energy for almost no operational gain. Preserving strength after victory is part of economy of force, even when the game still displays a routed enemy.
