Do books issued by a publisher carry more academic weight than self-published books?
Short answer
Yes, although that advantage carries less personal weight for a historian already following a career outside the traditional academic route.
Notes
Books issued by a publisher carry more academic weight than self-published books in this assessment. For Dr. Alex Clarke, that advantage matters less because his career already departs from the traditional academic route.
