Which Federation ship is strongest compared with Picard's Enterprise?
Short answerPrometheus is one choice within Picard's Enterprise-command era; including later ships brings agreement on Odyssey, with its size and newer weapons and defences.
NotesPrometheus can split into three warp-capable sections that attack together and force an opponent to divide its attention. Clarke favours it when thinking of the period in which Picard commanded the Enterprise, while another panelist chooses the later Odyssey. The case for Odyssey includes a hull over 1,000 metres long, multiple shielding layers and quantum-torpedo capability across its launchers. Improved phasers, tracking and weapon coverage strengthen that comparison. Clarke accepts Odyssey when the question includes the later era. A further objection to Prometheus is that concentrating weapons in one ship can sometimes work better than dividing the ship itself. The Nebula provides another comparison for the Next Generation era, with extra forward torpedo tubes and phasers relative to the Galaxy.
