President Masaryk's light armour and mixed ammunition supply

Thin armour and 66 mm guns alongside other vessels' 75 mm weapons limited protection and complicated ammunition supply.

Notes

President Masaryk had a 10 mm belt, 8 mm turret armour and a 5 mm deck. Even a heavy machine gun might penetrate protection this thin, making claims of bulletproof protection questionable. Despite that vulnerability, she was regarded as Czechoslovakia's best answer to the river forces of Yugoslavia, Romania and Hungary in the 1930s. Her 66 mm guns also introduced an ammunition complication because other Czechoslovak gunboats carried Škoda 75 mm weapons. Using the calibre already fitted to those boats would have simplified supply.
