Chapter ยท 1:24-3:58

A pre-dreadnought North Sea matchup

The simulated fight sets late British and German pre-dreadnought designs against each other and shows how their gun layouts affect combat.

Notes

Lord Nelson and Deutschland-class ships form the basis of a hypothetical North Sea engagement. The scenario examines the design logic of late pre-dreadnoughts rather than recreating a historical battle. Across repeated runs, the fighting becomes either a close melee or a long-range artillery duel. The different outcomes make the effects of main batteries, intermediate guns, speed, and tactical range easier to see.
