Chapter · 1:25:49-1:39:51

A modernized battle line overwhelms Russian pre-dreadnoughts

A tactical battle demonstrates the advantage of speed, long-range gunnery, and coordinated screens against slow Russian capital ships.

Notes

Battleships form a battle line, cruisers screen them, and destroyers scout ahead. The opposing Russian force can make only 18 knots, which is merely the British line's cruising speed. That mobility advantage allows the faster ships to control the range before bringing heavy guns and dense secondary batteries into action. Repeated design and refit choices produce a tactical overmatch, with the enemy force marked for destruction before its largest harbor is blockaded.
