Avalon's Marines wear full-body boarding suits weighing about a ton, with automatic cannon and a built-in rifle. The equipment prompts speculation about infantry becoming much more heavily armed through powered armour. A joke imagines the British Army preserving light infantry until battle suits make those troops formidable. Other armies could give their soldiers the same suits and still carry them in vehicles, retaining an advantage in mobility. Powered armour would leave a continuing reason for armoured transport and support.

Powered armor changes future boarding combat
Avalon's heavily armed boarding suits prompt a speculative comparison between augmented infantry and troops who also have armoured transport.
