The class had a varied post-war afterlife after Jutland. Its ships transported troops to the Mediterranean, recovered personnel from around the world and trained naval cadets. Monarch became a hulk and then a target ship for bombing and shellfire before sinking in 1925. Thunderer grounded while bound for breaking up, was refloated and was scrapped the following year. These duties marked the class's transition from frontline capital ships to training, experimental and disposal roles.
