The large bots carry Gauss guns, missiles, heavy armor, and articulated mounts, and can be serviced by other machines aboard ship. In their rare appearances they clear Magog swarm ships from Andromeda's hull and defeat ground-based attackers. The cruiser carries only two, while its numerous smaller robots are seldom used against boarders. Their neglect reinforces the video's theme that the Commonwealth possesses excellent tools without organizing doctrine around them.

Large planetfall defense bots and smaller onboard robots offer a safer alternative to using specialist sailors as infantry or leaving boarding defense to an exposed crew.
