Surviving photographs fill gaps left by sparse personal papers. Simon Parkin's book includes images of the full WATU team at work, Wrens looking through the canvas peephole, and Captain Gilbert Roberts explaining an operation. It also preserves an image of Jean Laidlaw, whom the video could not otherwise illustrate. These photographs show the people behind named anti-submarine tactics even as much of WATU's history has faded from public memory.
