The incomplete Lützow fought at Leningrad

Renamed Petropavlovsk and later Tallinn, the unfinished cruiser served as a floating battery, survived repeated sinkings, and supported the relief of Leningrad.

Notes

When Germany invaded the Soviet Union, the transferred cruiser was still incomplete but its installed guns made it useful as a floating battery. Petropavlovsk joined other Soviet cruisers in shelling advancing German positions during the defense of Leningrad. She was disabled and beached, then sunk by air attack before being raised and repaired. Renamed Tallinn, she returned to support the 1944 counteroffensive that relieved the siege, despite never becoming a completed seagoing cruiser.
