Question

Could Pearl-class cruisers fight German light cruisers on colonial stations?

Short answer

Possibly in theory, but it was not a fight a Pearl should seek in practice.

Notes

The audience asks whether Pearl-class cruisers on colonial stations could go toe to toe with German light cruisers. The gun comparison made such a fight conceivable in theory. A Pearl should still avoid the matchup in practice. The class was an inexpensive presence and commerce-protection ship, with no intention that it duel modern enemy warships.
