Patriot integration with US warships

What value would the US Navy gain by testing Patriot missiles with its ships?

Patriot would add another compatible missile and expand data-linked air defence, supplementing rather than replacing Aegis and Standard Missile systems.

The test shows that the United States can connect multiple missile families and sensors. Since Aegis and Standard Missile already provide the core shipboard system, the gain is interoperability and extra options rather than a wholly new capability.
