Why a Patriot missile would not quad-pack in Mark 41

Patriot is too large to replace quad-packed ESSM rounds inside Mark 41, even if the launcher and combat system could be adapted for it.

Question

Could Patriot be integrated into Mark 41 and quad- or dual-packed as an ESSM replacement?

Short answer

Patriot is closer in size to a Standard Missile, so the proposed quad- or dual-packed ESSM replacement is rejected.

Notes

Patriot is much closer in size to a Standard Missile than an Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile. It would therefore be unsuitable for the proposed quad-packed or dual-packed replacement for ESSM. Even in the hypothetical case of successful Mark 41 integration, the missile's physical size remains the constraint.
