Germany encounters British industrial capacity

Cooperation with Britain would confront German planners with an industrial partner unlike Italy, Civil War Spain, or annexed Czech factories.

Notes

Germany had little recent experience working alongside another large industrial power. Italy's equipment had a poor reputation for mechanical reliability, Spain had been exhausted by civil war, and the annexed Czech Skoda works were the strongest industrial asset among Germany's partners. Its clearest recent encounter with British industry had come from the receiving end in World War I. Fighting beside Britain against the United States would reveal a different scale of manufacturing and operational support. German officers who recognized the difference would have to reconsider some of their assumptions.
