The Orlandos carried two 9.2-inch Mark V or Mark VI guns in single mounts fore and aft. Ten six-inch guns occupied positions around the ship. The lighter battery comprised six 6-pounders of 57 mm and ten 3-pounders of 47 mm. Six 18-inch torpedo tubes covered both broadsides and the ends of the ship. Four were above water, with two firing to either side, while submerged bow and stern tubes fired forward and aft. A ten-inch belt and twelve-inch conning tower supplied heavy protection for a cruiser. The combination is assessed as a balanced design for the class's intended duties.
