From mutiny punishment to colonial Australia

The Nore reprisals ranged from execution to transportation, while William Redfern's later career links naval discipline to colonial New South Wales.

Notes

The collapse of the Nore movement brought executions and other punishments instead of a settlement like Spithead's. Richard Parker was convicted of treason and piracy and hanged from HMS Sandwich; twenty-nine mutineers were hanged in total. Others were imprisoned, flogged, or transported to Australia. William Redfern, a surgeon's mate transported for his role, later became a respected surgeon and landowner in New South Wales.
