How Navarra's changing names tracked Spanish regimes

One surviving cruiser carried monarchical, republican, and post-1936 names across a long Spanish career.

Notes

Blas de Lezo was wrecked in 1932, before the Civil War. Navarra, a design based on the British Town class, survived the conflict and served until 1956. She had begun as Reina Victoria Eugenia, became República in 1931, and took the name Navarra in 1936. Her successive names record the passage from monarchy to republic and the political changes accompanying the Civil War.
