The list ranges from Eugene Esmonde's Fleet Air Arm attack and Campbeltown's St Nazaire raid to destroyer actions at Narvik and the North Cape. It also includes armed merchant ships, motor gun boats, submarine commanders, commandos, and X-craft crews. Recipients associated with Singapore and the Java Sea extend the survey beyond the Atlantic and European theaters. The sequence gives viewers names and operations for following how the Victoria Cross recognized courage across very different forms of naval warfare.
