Information must be ready before seconds count

Short decision times reward information gathered and interpreted in advance, while still requiring judgment about what is relevant.

Notes

Faster warfare compresses decisions that once took days or hours into seconds. The information needed to make those decisions must already be available and synthesized into a picture of events. More information is not automatically better. The practical preference is to have information that can be discarded if irrelevant, rather than discover a gap when there is no time to fill it.
