Are there books for introducing very young children to naval history?
Short answerSuggestions are All at Sea by Terry Deary, A Short History of Seafaring by Brian Lavery, and Little Navy Sailor for babies and toddlers.
NotesAlex recommends All at Sea and A Short History of Seafaring based partly on reports from relatives who use them with children. Little Navy Sailor serves a different purpose: a cousin uses it to explain a mother's naval job to her child. It is described as intended for babies up to three years old. Its favourable picture of naval service also leads Alex to jokingly call it recruitment material.
