Naval autonomy funding separates carrier trials from mine warfare

The autonomy table distinguishes carrier-drone trials, seabed systems, minehunting and coordination facilities, with different funding levels.

Notes

The autonomy table is read here as assigning £250 million to Project Pantheon for trials of jet-powered drones alongside the carrier force's F-35Bs. Autonomous seabed-warfare systems receive £230 million. Autonomous minehunting receives £1.1 billion, almost as much as the separate £1.3 billion allocation for the proposed Hybrid Navy vessel family. A further £310 million is assigned to an uncrewed-systems centre intended to coordinate industry and partner output. The later maritime discussion uses a Pantheon figure of nearly £240 million, and the difference between the figures is not resolved.
