Videos point back to the museum

Video can preview a ship or collection and help someone decide whether to visit, but it cannot reproduce the physical experience of a preserved vessel.

Notes

Filming naval heritage cannot reproduce experiencing it in person. At Maritiman in Gothenburg, a video can show ladders, guns, and ship spaces, but viewers cannot climb aboard or sense the atmosphere of the vessel. The recording introduces the history and gives prospective visitors enough information to decide whether to travel. Creator coverage works best when it sends attention and support back to the museum that cares for the collection.
