More competition in cruisers and small carriers

The estimated British programme adds four or five Hermes-like ships, with the United States following at a comparable scale.

Notes

The scenario expands competition below the 10,000-ton threshold in both cruisers and cruiser carriers. The British estimate is a small carrier every other year during the period. That would produce four or five Hermes-like vessels in addition to Hermes. An American programme is expected to be of a similar scale. The proposed increase is a sustained sequence of orders, with the number of small flight decks growing alongside cruiser construction.
