A monoplane Albacore against the Regia Marina

An aircraft-development answer explains why changing from biplane to monoplane does not automatically transform combat effect.

Question

Would the monoplane Fairey F.930 become a much more effective Albacore against the Italian Navy?

Short answer

Its success would depend on solving development and stall-speed problems, while retaining the same engine, torpedo, bombs, and guns would limit the gain largely to modest extra speed.

Notes

The F.930 path first has to solve its development and low-speed handling problems before it can become an operational Albacore. If it keeps the historical engine and weapons, the monoplane layout provides only a limited performance increase. It would be somewhat faster without carrying a more destructive torpedo or bomb load. Configuration alone would not dramatically change the campaign against the Regia Marina.
