A modular River-class patrol force

A modified Batch 3 River class could combine heavier guns, Martlet missiles, StanFlex modules, UAV support, a stern ramp, and optional towed sensors for flexible regional patrol work.

Notes

The Batch 3 concept adapts an existing River-class hull with modular equipment for different regional missions. Its proposed fit includes a twin 40-millimetre Bofors mounting, two 30-millimetre guns with Martlet missiles, three StanFlex positions, a UAV hangar, and a stern ramp. The ramp could launch boats, uncrewed systems, or a towed sonar. These patrol ships could escort mine-countermeasures forces, counter piracy, protect merchant shipping, exercise with partners, and visit ports too small for a Type 31.
