The ship name continues in the modern Argentine Navy. The MEKO 360-class vessel was launched in September 1981 but was not delivered until May 1983. That schedule kept her entirely outside the 1982 Falklands War despite construction having begun before the conflict. Her continuing service decades later preserves the name and offers another example of delivery timing determining whether a warship participates in a conflict.
