Mixed drone and missile salvos turn defense into force allocation

A realistic attack could mix drone, subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic threats, but assembling that force against one ship carries its own operational cost.

Notes

A sophisticated attack would not present one weapon type at a time. A mixed salvo could combine drone swarms with subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic missiles, forcing the ship to manage several engagement problems together. That is the demanding case its layered defensive design is meant to face. The reciprocal question is how much of an attacker's available force must be concentrated to destroy one capital ship, because every system committed there is unavailable elsewhere.
